Volunteer Opportunities

CASE being a non-profit organisation relies heavily on the contributions of our volunteers. At present, we have over 200 volunteers helping us with 15 sub-committees. Depending on your needs, your expertise and your commitment ability, we have every kind of volunteering arrangements for you.

1) How do I volunteer my services?
Support CASE today and click here for our volunteer application form. Please email, fax or mail the form to us and our staff will contact you shortly.

2) In which areas can I volunteer my services?

We have committees representing certain areas such as mediation, editorial and education, and taskforces that research on the possibility of unfair trading practices and dangers in areas such as beauty and slimming and mobile phone radiation.

  ""

Some committees and taskforces require professional expertise, for example, we need lawyers for the Services Standards Committee. For further details, please email us at admin@case.org.sg.

3) Do I have to attend any courses if I were to become a volunteer?
It depends. Mediation, for example, would require mediation training.

4) What are the volunteering hours like?
The hours are dependent on your area of volunteer too. Certain committees have ad-hoc meetings while others are carried out on a monthly basis. Meeting time may differ from office hours to after office hours.

5) What if my working schedules keeps me from attending meetings?
You can be part of our team of writers (editorial committee) and contribute consumer related articles. This is one of the most flexible arrangements where physical attendance is kept to the minimum. Communication is mainly via email.

6) I am unsure if I can consistently commit my time to volunteering at CASE. Will that be a problem?
You can volunteer as a mediator where you mediate disputes between consumers and companies. Mediation session, which is ad hoc in nature, is usually arranged on Saturday morning and each session ranges from 1 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the case. Training sessions will be arranged for interested volunteers.

7) I prefer challenges and welcome analytical thinking. Any arrangements of such nature?
Yes, we welcome volunteers in our on-going committee work. Examples of such committees are CaseTrust Accreditation Scheme. Committee work revolves around discussion of strategic issues and formulation of action plan.

Survey Volunteers/Mystery Shoppers

CASE is looking for survey volunteers/mystery-shoppers to help out in the various survey and testing projects.

Occasionally, survey volunteers may be required to come down to CASE office for trainings and briefings.

Why do we conduct surveys and tests?

Price surveys help keep tab of the low cost products sold in the market so we could inform consumers on the market value of products. Businesses will also be encouraged to price their product competitively. And by conducting product tests, businesses will be compelled to uphold the quality and safety standards of their products.

What will I get as a survey volunteer?
